Constant flow Langendorff apparatus

With this system we can perform whole heart ex vivo function experiments and monitor left ventricular pressure (LVDP) and perfusion pressure (PP) through the AdInstruments signal transducer and LabChart acquisition and analysis software

Constant pressure Langendorff apparatus

This is the ideal set up for adult myocytes isolation from mice and rat hearts.

Field stimulation perfusion system

The electrical pulse is controlled in shape, frequency and duration by the MyoPacer Cell Stimulator (IonOptix). A two-channel temperature controller is used for keeping the field stimulation chamber and perfusion channels at the desired temperature.

IonOptix myocyte imaging system

This system allows us to measure Ca2+ transients and cardiomyocyte contractile properties under field stimulation

Calcium Imaging system

Nikon Eclipse TE2000-S attached to a Orca Flash V4.0 camera will be used to record the fluoresce images of Ca2+ fluorescent probes. The microscope is equipped with 4 different LEDs, being able to excite fluorophores at 340, 380, 488 and 561nm.

Olympus FV1000 multi-photon microscope

this upright multi-photon confocal microscope is most suitable for imaging thicker preparations such as a Langendorff perfused whole heart preparation or a piece of heart tissue. This system comes with an on-stage incubator which enables us to maintain experimental preparations with appropriate temperature and CO2 concentrations
